Milentije vs a party of Gondor's Vengeance

Player Kill

Apparently Grimscar's party found out the new way to get onto Milentije's shitlist... and hilarity ensued. Too bad, only Martox died... but who said a NPC cannot run finds, hunt, loot corpses and use flasks?

ERs would raid into the free lands, log onto their FRs and raid into the evil lands. About how it went. There were FRs whining about bloodthirsty ear-hungry ERs newbie killing, then they'd turn right around and kill ER newbies. The time brought out the worst in most. Metal necklaces were a bigger detriment to the MUD anyway. That's when the spree killing really took off.

The only good thing about them was when I could party with Chiprox and try to kill them with me and him only hoping to god we didn't die right away. :P

BPs were fun if you were an ER powerplayerish type cause you fucking raped everything.

BP's were annoying and I have to agree strongly with Lucky on his views. BP's fucking blew, I never played during that era of the game. Etrius said it best, its a blotch on the history of this game.

BPs were just never finished. They were for legions to gain power which was to keep what you call a guild of some sort and place out bountys.. but also never finished or figured out to give rewards to each side for owning another sides land. BPs also gave out a bit of experience which I miss.

They could put BPs back in, but instead of blocking the opposing side or affecting lawsys, control of them could give a bonus in that region. i.e. +5 to common skills, or 5% more exp, or something. Maybe make lawsys not work in the BP room, and combat stops when you leave it. I don't know. Would that be entertaining to people? People could fight over them without interfering with people who aren't interested.

BPs were great. What wasn't awesome about just finding your way into East Arda to explore and enjoy yourself only to be murdered by an asshole with a client trigger to hunt every name that walked in?

Sounds like a good time to me.

Question: Why did newbs stop showing up so suddenly?

Never liked BP's. But some of the action, cooperation, playerkills, hunting and thrills as a (in)direct result of them was pretty cool. Had some good times in that era, but the downsides was weighing heavily upon the enjoyability of the game.

BPs help bring all of the ER community together, cant say that for half of the FR, BPs also made commands which people never used come into play like 'plea' for example. To me BPs were loads of fun, just lots of too many holes in system, wouldn't mind seeing them fix and brought back.

Such as movement, rewards and the lawsystem, yea there was people on both sides taking advanage of it.

Sadly most of the people who left during BP's actually are unfortunately those who enjoyed questing more. There was a rediculous drop off in population during BP's (roughly 50+ average online). From what I observe, the population hasn't dropped as much once they were removed. BP's themselves and how they were implemented were HORRIBLE. But, if implemented differently to encourage something other than chaotic kill sprees, like something Jaron or Razey have mentioned, where other playstyles (rp'ers, adventurers and soloists) could still exist, it would definitely help the mud activity very much. The only arena similiar to this is mordor and that isn't quite the same either.

People like to look back on the old days when things were much better. They remember all the good and none of the bad, completely forgetting that in those old days they were wishing for the old days when things were much better. I am surprised that so soon after the removal of BPs people are wanting them back, though.

Yeah, what is there to do when you log on anymore? Quest, you have to do that every time you log on, and it's same old same old. Gold, boring as shit, same old same old. There seems to be nothing exciting anymore that you quest/gold -for-, such as BPs, I agree with Razey completely, they were something to go on and work for. And they had those huge parties going and it just wasn't a couple people pking, like it is right now.

Anyways, this is probably the future of t2t - NPCs that imitate bang parties since we don't have enough active pkers to create 5 vs 5 parties anymore :P
