Firstly, it won't just be you Americans that go in depression. It will be the whole world. Secondly, I think you're underestimating how bad a depression and its results could be. Read about the interwar depression.. This one seems quite similar to it.
The thing is Jaron, the bailout is not a sure bet. We could pay 700B and still have the stockmarket collapse. However, the government is setting a dangerous precedence by putting their fat fucking fingers in business, sending a message to every corporation in America: 'If you're powerful enough and large enough to do serious damage to the American economy if you go under, we'll bail you out.'
Fuck that. Let the companies go under, let us go into a depression, and let the market sort itself out eventually. We Americans are too used to having it good all of the time. I think the best thing that can happen is for the economy to go to shit. That way, perhaps more Americans will turn off 'Dancing with the Stars', put down their goddamn 'Vogue' magizines, and start paying attention to what the fuck is going on.
