The rotating-wheel Braille display sounds like the sort of thing I'd love to use if I were blind... unlike speech, the output could be sped up to whatever you're comfortable with without losing coherence.

Well, hehe, i meanthe tab button, and jakar you are right about what you are presuming, i think it's spelled liked that.

And well, when it comes to pk it is pretty difficult, i will not say totally impossible, but it is damn difficult, because, you can't check all the things that's going on, the only thing i mostly can do is check my hp and ep and well, otherwise run like hell, all the headbutting and well, the spam, that makes it damn difficult.

that's also why i lock, we stand in only one room, no need to move anywhere, just fight, that way it's way more easy-

So is it like a disadvantage to be playing whilst being blind? does it mean when you get backstabbed, you're dead before you can really do much about it?

Props for sticking with an all text adventure game under those conditions. Also, it must suck arse coming to the log page and having to scroll down past one of Tireless' 700 paragraph long comments.

I was actually going to give Jakar a chance to remove his comment after realizing that by the tap button Gramul means tab, and he doesn't know the proper way to spell it because he's never seen it, but then I decided that I shall grant no mercy today!

So Gramul, it's kind of like pressing tab? It just says what's highlighted instead? Sounds like it anways.

Well, thanks guys, i swear that i am not trying to pull one over on you, i am truely blind.

As for your question tireless, there is keyboard commands for everything you do, at least, almost everything, though i mainly use the left/right/up/down arrow and the tap button to get to the diferent things, for exampel now when i'm done writing this, i press tap one time and it jumps down to the add your command button, and than it's just press enter and it's added.

I must say that i have never tried to use the mouse, that is too difficult in my opinion.

I didn't say it was impossible, I just couldn't imagine how it was done. If doing it the way you describe is actually doable, I register surprise but not incredulity.

Tireless now your being an idiot, i have given computer support to blind people, and one of my hardware electronic teachers in school was blind, they learn damn fast how to use the computer pretty normaly, they drag around with the mouse in a low speed and when they hear the voice program they stop and listen, then they usely remember (If they where blind in a accident) how most pages are built.

There's a browser that's setup for voice activation....I forget what it's called, but it has most of the basic functions. I have no idea if that's what he's using, but I know I've read of one somewhere.

Mirnac: How could you use a mouse if you were blind? I mean, mousing blindfolded is damn near impossible, and that's when you already know where everything is. (I'm not saying he couldn't do it, but... man, boggles my mind)

I want to make sure I'm clear: Gramul, assuming you are in fact blind and playing the way you say (and not just trying to pull one over on us) I applaud you for the dedication it must take to do so. I think it's great that you are able to get as into the game as you do.

All I was trying to say is that the log is hard to read because it was logged by/for a blind player. It makes the log a little worse, but it's like saying that a guy with a peg-leg runs slower than an Olympic athlete. Of course he does. It's not a mark against the guy himself (or you yourself), just reflecting that his circumstances make some products he generates or the results of some of his efforts different than people who are not in his circumstances.

Well, tireless is right, i use a program called a screenreader (jaws 6.20).

That program, reads all the text writin on the screen, and that doesn't include grafics and pics and stuff like that.

But well, i need the stuff slow, cause it can't just scan the screen like for exampel seeing people can with their eyes, and than they know what's going on, it can't scan the screen and give me a quick overview over what's happening.

When i fight something, it says first, You slash into orc with fury! and than i need to hear what the enemy got..

So basically, it's one line at a time, that can also be very slow to read room descs, but well, i enjoy playing the game and well, read all the descs and what else there is in the game :D

where did you get that from Shardik? Oh, must be the misspelling of that idiot's name, sorry my bad!

Just out of context question though, Gramul, how can you mud while being blind? And I do not mean this in a sarcastic way whatsoever, i am just very curious to how the mechanism work.. do you like remember the grid off the top of your head and type in or say commands into a voice recognition system? Gotta say though, much respect!!

Seriously Tireless, you are overly communicative, especially for a moderator and an ainur. It is impossible to keep quality up with this kind of quantity. I was going to write something else here designed to make you hang your head in shame and start giving out pearls of wisdom once per several logs, but I forgot what, along with the reason for me posting this shit to begin with. Farewell, gentlemen.

All of the tellhist made it very hard for me to read... though remembering that Gramul is posting it and he's blind, I wouldn't expect it to be terribly readable in the first place. (That's not a dig at Gramul.)

Actually there are no colors at all Gramul :P

But yea, this is just different because there are no colors and there is a space between every line. Compared to no spaces and colors, it is very readable but the other two aspects make it easier. But some people are twats sooooo :p

Well, ural, that's why i suck that badly at posting logs, i don't know what looks good for you, i know what is readable for me and what sounds good to me, for me, this is a fine log, but well, for you, it will most likely suck, cause the colors might burn your eyes or what the hell it could be.
