I banned Rhakyrh for consistent, persistent rules violations over a LONG period of time. There are many things about how he conducts himself which I find personally distasteful, but if I were in the business of banning people I find distasteful I wouldn't have to put up with so much crap here. Delvar and alts would all be gone, Nirrab and alts would all be gone and moderating the logpage would take 10% as much time and attention.
I'd prefer that Rhakyrh wasn't banned so I had something to read, but I've got to say Delver is a moron.

Exley, in general (this isn't the case 100% of the time) warnings are the product of doing something which violates our rules in such a way as to be harmful to a third party by distributing information (such as outing alts in the forum threads). Since becoming a mod I've not issued a single warning for flaming which wasn't more than justified by some other offense. People who are annoying as shit get ignored (I think a bunch of people ignored Smoky for a while for that reason, though the character has either 1 or 0 warnings). People who violate the rules designed to protect the community get banned.
The specific violation that got Rhakyrh warned immediately before he was banned was an MP violation. I gave him 4 days when it should have been a perm block (based on the number of prior offenses).
If people hassle the mods enough that they feel their ability to moderate effectively is impaired, that violates a rule. I don't feel that way based on Female's comment (even if it isn't entirely accurate) so I didn't ban or warn him. He is currently blocked for a different rules violation.
With regards to his comment, though, in the past I _have_ made decisions based on personal issues, and for that I apologize. I have been more lax than was justifiable towards my friends, giving excessive numbers of chances to chronic violators and the like. My performance has not been perfect. You can accurately claim that I've not done a flawless job. My intentions, however, are and always have been to enforce the rules here in as fair and unbiased a manner as possible.
Rhakyrh has received enough warnings to justify permanently banning 9 people. He is now banned. The thing for which he is banned took place before he killed my typist the first time. Vermond correctly illustrated that I had not dealt with the situation correctly and I took correct action in response to that. You can accept that my typist's interactions with Rhakyrh in the mean time is coincidence or not. I don't care. Complain as much as you like. I try my best not to let player interactions colour my moderating decisions, and particularly in cases like this one where I recognize that I'm prone to such a shortcoming I take specific care to ensure that I act in a rationally defensible, impartial manner.
If anyone wants to seriously contend that I've not acted fairly they can mudmail me at Tireless and I'll do my best to write a reasonable reply. I'll continue doing my best to enforce the rules. Please continue to do your best not to violate them. Good night, and good luck.

I don't agree with the ban, because I don't think anyone should be banned from the logpage; instead, make an ignore command (if there's not one already) and let people choose for themselves who will or will not get on their nerves.
It's basically what Tireless said, and since I'm pretty much retired, he is the guy and it's his ultimate decision despite my initial prodding.
However, I am more than happy to take the assault on my persona from Rhakyrh, it is quite enjoyable throughout the boredom of 50 degree celsius summer days here

Alright well you can ban me for saying this and prove a point, but let me offer an alternative perspective on the matter for everyone.
You and Vermond are vindictive bitches that abuse your log page moderating powers. You base decisions on personal issues, and take things out here because you can't, and could never deal with things on the MUD.
Just my two cents. Discuss!

Since there seems to be some consternation regarding Rhakyrh's block, I'd like to take the opportunity to give just a little bit of insight into why precisely he's blocked.
Between the characters I could quickly and easily pick out I identified at least TWENTY-EIGHT _DISTINCT_ warnings. MANY of them were for the same offense. (He has a substantial number of MP warnings, for example.)
He has had MULTIPLE permanent blocks which have been lifted with the promise of good behaviour. Every single one of those blocks was followed by a warning and a replacement of the block.
When his most recent perm block was lifted (by me, which was a mistake on my part) I told him: 'I'm going to unblock you from commenting since the offense for which you were banned is no longer illegal. Keep in mind, though, that you are on very tenuous ground for virtually every reason you can think of... so speak carefully. Don't let others get a rise out of you, don't go off on long diatribes, and don't abuse the privilege.' He has ignored literally every part of my warning. He has gotten 2.5 warnings (the .5 warning being an informal warning) since then.
Basically I have been extremely lenient in enforcing the rules of the logpage. Under the previous mods it was first warning is 4 days, second warnings is 8 days, third warning is perm ban. Because I did not deal severely enough with Rhakyrh he abused the situation repeatedly and consistently. When Vermond stepped in to reassert the standards of the page (which I had failed to enforce) Rhakyrh then offered attacks aimed at him (which is itself an offense). I will not make the same mistake again.
As long as I am a moderator on this logpage, Rhakyrh will not be welcome here. He has violated too many rules too many times.
