HP:230 EP:216     This large, dim and smoky hall is the mead-hall of Edoras,
where the Rohirrim gather to tell tales of past exploits and
drink in fellowship.  A large fire-pit filled with smouldering
logs is in the center of the hall, the smoke escaping through
a vent in the roof.  Long tables surround the fire-pit.  The
smell of smoke and the sweet honey-scented mead fill the air,
making you feel giddy.  You could drift off to sleep here quite
easily.  A menu has been carved into the back wall in large letters.
    The only obvious exit is north.

    The main street of Edoras leads south from the gate.  It is a broad
path, which leads steadily up the great hill.  Spaced along the way
are several short flights of stairs.  Beside the road a swift 
stream of water flows in a stone channel.  There are many houses on
either side of the path as it winds its way up the hill.  To the east
is a small stone guard house, to the west a building with a sign on
its door.

    This is the dirt road leading to Adornas.  As befits
the Eorlingas, this road is really only suitable for horsed
traffic.  Wains would quickly get stuck in the ruts and grassy
patches that appear from time to time.  It appears the King of
Rohan does not expend much of his gold on paving.  Since
this land is often the scene of combat between the Dunlendings
and the Rohirrim, this is not unexpected.
