Ahhh Konj the Croatian sensation! Was a really weird guy (Sexy sandra in kadar is his creation, based on some bird he had a massive thing for), but stylish and funny.

I dunno why he disappeared but it sucks. Guess life caught up to him.

And, for all our problems, I really really do miss the old days of it just being you, me, Konj and Soloman running Rimmies.

... Until a war broke out, then all the old faces would pop back in for some reduced-cost pking.

That's good to know. I notice he logs in occasionally, but like I say I haven't caught him for a few years. The last I heard was something similar to what you outlined in your post, except without the all-important recovery part. Cheers for enlightening me.

Greg: Soloman had basically a RL melt-down and dropped his lollies. He IS a lovely guy and is on the road to recovery, but he did it tough for a while there. hence disappearing off the face of t2t.

FYI: the information was initially leaked out from one of the staff on Castamir's MUD, as when it copied they had access to the backlog of founder/power discussion on the issue. Drogian confirmed it on here because he was pissy about being sacked, Draugluin told a few people via e-mail and Aule made an official statement a few years ago; presumably in order to stem the flood of speculation and put the record straight.

The part about spending it on plastic surgery was an embellishment which QFM and I added, but the rest is most definitely true. It's been confirmed by a number of sources; firstly Drogian and Draugluin, and Aule more recently.

and for those who don't know, Culfinglin was the 'lady' who stole the pledge drive money to make a plastic surgery. Some say she returned part of it, tho.

I spoke to Culfinglin maybe twice. On the basis of these two discussions, I completely support any husband's decision to divorce her. That's how much of a bitch she came off as.

That was SolomOn. Also a Rimmie, a former GM in fact, but he immorted a long time before I joined. His other claim to fame was marrying, and later divorcing, Culfinglin.

SolomAn, on the other hand, was an extremely nice guy who used to play. He spent a lot of time helping newbies, and never judged anybody based on gossip or hearsay. He encouraged me to apply to Rimsilval when I was still really only a newbie. He went inactive because he had a lot going on in real life. I haven't spoken to him for about three years, so I hope he's doing alright.

It wasn't done in angst, it was probably done accidentally. I do believe I ran across one of yours partying with Soloman or someone of that ilk many moons ago, ascertained from the way you carry yourself that you were, in fact, you. Not some phony kebab stand owner like Bared or whatever cover story you were going with at the time.

By the way, there is no way to 'prove' ainu leaks, but, as speaking as someone who every time made a new alt and got a list of every char i've ever played via Tanar, I tend to think Falglinoth and the Ainu have a nice cosey relationship.

Kinda like Malg about to be wiped out due to inactivity, so 10 members log on all at once, age 4 hours, then log off.

  • Author

It occurred a considerably long time before our relationship took a turn for the worse, Trescothik, and possibly before we even had one. It was before I became a part of the R comm, so I doubt you were responsible. I have no knowledge of whatever map you're talking about, having never played the new evil races properly or learnt FH, but it's possible that I missed out on that particular piece of drama due to inactivity.

    ===================================

    Everyone,

On March 15th, towards the end of the Event, there was an

ainur sponsored arena fight between Shelob and Lansing which

was tampered with and had to be prematurely terminated due

to an error. I regret that proper precautions weren't taken

at the time and that this happened while I was present.

You've been contacted to inform you that those who lost gold

during that particular fight have been reimbursed for their

loses, and those who recieved extra winnings have had those

winnings withdrawn. You will recieve an individual mail

following this one listing the amount that was withdrawn or

    reimbursed.

I hope this unfortunate accident didn't spoil the Event too

much for you and that you'll join us again next year. Any

concerns or questions regarding this mail or what happened,

you're welcome to contact me directly.

lots of good posts here. i like what westar and cifke both said. if you dont like the way the PK scene runs rampant with MP and shady people then you can avoid it and still do countless other things on the MUD. i can see how people can get so negative and i sometimes find myself doing it but it's just misguided energy. take that annoyance with things being wrong and we have to stop complaining and start all working together to change it or minimize the problems etc. ainur should really be the last people we ask to fix our problems (outside of code issues and things ONLY they can fix) if this mud was really dead like i've said in the past nobody would even take the time to whine about it we simply wouldn't be here. it is time for positivity the MUD is fine and most likely will never be back to 120 users at a time but like people have pointed out on the comm less people MUD in general, the LOTR movies have faded from the mainstream, yet t2t is still IMO a pretty fun place to play full of unique people with plenty of things to do and with ainur who do the best they can to help us all have a good time. even if i hadnt been nuked about 300 times i still would never immort because it seems hard and like a thankless job and i cant even code a variable into my client let alone code a new area or quest. on a less serious note i see tons of complaints about comm policing and as a dude who gets names banned from this log page like it's my job and has been known to get a bit out of hand on the comm ive never really felt cheated because i got a warning. the comm rules are very simple and while it is fun IMO to test the waters and have a bit of a risque chat at times it is SOOOO easy to avoid getting a warning for inappopriate topics/language on the comm. if you really have to say something about sex or drugs or dead hookers you can always use a tell so i think to complain about that like you are a total victim is a bit silly

    love,

I consider myself a 'new' player since I've only been playing for a year. And yeah I still like the game, it has it's flaws as does every game. There's this bunch of cheaters who get nuked every now and then (and sure, some get away with it, this happends in every game), there's this bunch of PK-crazy people but it seems they enjoy keeping eachother busy so most of Arda isn't affected by it (any more), there's also this bunch of old players who unfortunately seem to have become bitter over the years and somehow feel the need to more or less put a spotlight on every flaw they see.

I think everyone has to find his own 'fun' on the game. Some succeed, some don't. It just caught my attention that for some it's to hard to leave the game they mostly criticize all day long.

Good post, Tireless. In reality, there have always been 'bad eggs' amongst the administration. Although he did a lot of good for the MUD, Rauko was fond of power tripping. Draugluin and Drogian had good intentions, but they took the MUD in a direction which had a negative impact on the community. Some of their nuke reasons were a little less than stellar, too. Melkor is as batshit crazy as he ever was, and Mathias continues to police the comm as though he were a Brezhnev era apparatchik. Though doubtless culpable for certain failings, the ongoing problems with the game cannot be laid wholly with Valinor.

I like the spirit of Draimon's post, though. It's nice and refreshing to hear someone speak so passionately and positively about this place, given that so much of the conversation lately has been negative. I'm definitely up for trying to improve things.

im drunk so this might seem like rambling but there are obviously plenty of old schoolers who still are interested in this game and of course lots of new schoolers who still play. this mud can still have some life in it but we all must stop looking and pointing fingers at valinor for all our problems. valinor are to be respected and i mean that sincerely no matter how unfeasible it may seem. these are people who volunteer all their free time to try to make a game that you love better. if you really have so many qualms with their actions then do yourself and them a fucking favor and stop playing this mud. it took me a long time to realize this but anybody with some sense IMO should be able to realize it at some point. you dont like how t2t is run? shut the fuck up and quit playing. if you aren't willing to do that then shut your cock sucker and go with the flow and do the best you can. it certainly is not yet a dead game. i have many qualms with things that i think should be changed but i can still find myself playing 12 hours a day and not really feeling bored. this MUD is still alive and kicking and the only MUd ive ever played. im not even a console gamer or anything but t2t is something special and i ask you all to instead quit pointing fingers and truly do the best you can do play your characters the best you can and make Arda something special. if that is too much then go ahead and quit, because i dont want you here anyways

all valid points etrius but IMO its upon the typist to be able to ignore those who know who his alts are and still be able to do his IC thing. that takes a big man and apparently not very many are capable of doing so. and if a friend expects you to treat all your chars the same then he is a shitty friend

  • Author
    Etrius [legacy]
    At

There are problems with character separation, though. Namely the people who make it their mission in life to collate huge databases of MP information and know everybody else's business. I used to be one of those people, but I was by no means the most dedicated or informed. Azarael, for example, had a Zmud script which constantly scanned who was online and looked for patterns. Other people seem to pluck MP information from nowhere, leading to unproven accusations of Valinor leakage. I'm not sure how true that is, and I'd like to think it isn't, but the fact remains that MP information is a precious commodity in our ever-dwindling community.

About a decade ago, or thereabouts, I had four different characters in four different guilds. I played them all differently, I told no one, I was careful about login times and I even went so far as to invent a spurious RL background for one. Then someone found out somehow. To this day, I have no idea how the information got out, but all I know is that within the space of about a month anybody who was anybody could list my entire typist history.

So I just don't bother anymore. I'm me on all of my characters now, and I don't make an effort to hide it. Send me a tell in-game and I'll happily list the ones I can remember for you. You can be as careful as you like, but years of prudence and planning can be destroyed in seconds if the wrong busybody finds out somehow. In my eyes, character separation just isn't worth the effort. Doubly not if there are so many people that just can't wait to fuck you over.

agreed shardik and you are a bro king whose opinion i have always given much credit to. i realize its hard to separate chars when your enemy wont do so. when you have 5 enemy alts from 1 typist trying to kill you shit sucks. i've been a 'power player' my whole time here but looking back on it i feel embarrassed about it. anybody can power play. its easy as fuck and at the end of it all nobody really ever cares. they dont give 'legends' to typists. granted most knowledgeable people know who the pvp good typists are but once those people expire their chars wont live on except for this log page. invest in your char. play it like it is your only char. only good things will come from it from both your side and your opponents side

The problem is more like a few people trying to fuck you in the ass with every character they have. That's the problem many people have with the current MP scene, and the suck your dick situation you described is typically only practiced by those few people who try to fuck you in the ass with every single one of their characters. Carry on, Prince Draimon.

friendos the time for blaming ainur has past. this game is still playable. we just have to step back and remember it is all ONLY a game. have fun. dont worry about your bro typist because the severely limits the abilities you can do IC. some of my friends have like 5-6 chars, if i was to not do any harm to any of his chars guild's id be pretty much not able to do any PVP. the answer here is to grow up and accept that your typist friends may get fucking crazy with it and play their chars different. doesnt mean you gotta fight every char that dude now has because he didnt suck your dick on all of his chars, it just means one might have to actually try and remain mildy IC.

What do you think the arena is about? It's about making gold, especially if you know what the outcome of a fight is going to be. If ADD ainu over here didn't want to wait for the fight to end, that's what the halt command is for. You don't go ahead and decide for yourself who the fucking winner is, both NPCs stood a good chance of winning. Not like the Shelob vs Carforgoth fight they did afterwards didn't take a long time.

I'm a thief, it's not like it would take long to make back. I'm far too lazy to go out and steal anymore though and that's not the point anyways. They went ahead and meddled in shit they shouldn't have, which cost plenty of people besides myself a lot. He's the one that initiated the fight; if he wasn't prepared to wait it out he shouldn't have started it in the first place.
