Nope. Getting banned didn't do shit to me. If you look back at my posts just after (and for probably 6 months or more after) I was banned you'll still see the same old 'Fuck Stalinor' shit that I'd been saying for years before that.
It was spending a long time away for this fucked 'community' or whatever Melkor wanted to call it that made me see things as a reasonable person.
I really am embarassed by the thing I've said and done on this place. While I've managed to delete a lot of my logs I can't delete the comments I've made and I can't delete the years of my life I pissed away playing this fucking game.
Sometimes people give me shit because I still post here. I can't really blame them. On one hand this is a site I visit because it's low bandwidth and Australia has fucked internet. So I can visit it while I'm waiting for other things to load.
Truthfully though, I keep coming here because I spent a good 10 years (a whole fucking decade) of my life playing this fucking game and it's hard to just let the past go.
I'd take back, given the chance, my entire time playing this game but that's just fantasy.

One of the things people bring up when I mention that I'm hardbanned is this whole Baitlia thing. People act like it was an unreasonable ban that shows that the Admins protect paedophiles. Which is bullshit. I didn't do that and I never claimed to do that for a greater moral good. I did it because I thought it would be hilarious to put this guy through the gauntlet and make fun of him. The admins were right to ban me for that. That this guy has been busted (apprently I don't know) since then for the same thing is irrelevant.

The first time I got pkilled, and this is going back well over a decade now, was four hours into reboot by a Durmanhoth member who couldn't be bothered questing his own equipment. As this occured a long time before I became a misanthropic prick, I consider it to have been unprovoked. If the often PK orientated nature of this game is what puts you off it, then I'm honestly surprised you stayed here for so long in the first place.

I was in GiM :P Same time I was running around playing handcuff tag. I hated FRA for a long time for banging me and making me mad enough to suicide Gomiathan. At the time, I thought I could hide behind Taidhbhse. I started making assassins not to kill, but to do everything faded so it wouldn't happen again. I learned enough to evade people quite well, but was never fast enough to kill efficiently. The people I associated with didn't learn fast enough for me and I found myself trying to avenge those who could not defend themselves. I started gravitating towards the power guilds because I knew the members weren't weak and could defend themselves. I knew I wouldn't feel morally obligated to bully the bullies, because they themselves were the bullies :p You may have noticed that every time I've stopped playing the mud have been in times where whatever group I was associating with got heavily involved in pk :P After one of my many absences, I tried going back, getting involved with some of the nonpk groups in the game, and then something happened and they ended up getting killed with no ability to defend or take revenge, and I found myself right back in the same situation. As long as pk remains the focus of this mud and people are forced to participate whether they want to or not, I'll remain inactive. </end rant>
Yet you've often chosen to associate yourself with guilds which place a significant emphasis on PvP. Daen Hecil, for example, and then the Rangers of Ithilien sometime later. There are still people in this game who don't bother with PvP and focus more on socializing and other pursuits; the GiM, for example, and certain members of the Valacirca. Perhaps, like myself and others, you became the architect of your own embitterment by choosing to involve yourself in the more petty and soul destroying aspects of the MUD. I know I'd have been a lot happier if I was still defending the Grey Havens and had no idea what a MELS was.

I think what Ravathir is trying to say is that he really needs to upgrade his map settings and/or computer RAM.
What most likely happened was this: Oh shit. mapper un-syncd. Glance. Client freeze due to sync attempt in non-unique room. Shit. #walk stslock. Mapper overload. quit. quit. Remain ghost so Arda thinks it was a client/internet/computer problem rather than his own to try and save face/make it seem like he doesn't care. Log on and do something productive on alt so he can live with the fact he's been pk'd (which will most likely include finding daywalker/attempting daywalker at the scene of his death).
