    This small island in the middle of the Garth is the very center of 
Pelargir.  Surrounded by water, it is much more quiet than the other
parts of the city; you can still hear the city sounds but they are 
muffled by the distance.  Most of the space here is taken by ancient
white ruins, covered in vines and moss.  The ruins look like a grandiose
residence rather than a military structure; perhaps one that used to
belong to the ruling family.  Except for the vines, the vegetation here
is scarce: mostly grass and just a few trees.
