Etrius, I recognize your concern, and hope that this situation will constitute and has constituted the exception rather than the rule in terms of your opinion of the fairness or objectiveness of my efforts to enforce the rules. My opinion obviously differs from yours, but ultimately I am the one who has to make the call, and not you. If you think I'm being an arbitrary bastard in how I moderate only rarely, I think that probably means I'm doing a good job. Your conclusions are usually pretty spot on in such regards.
Tireless, I sent an mudmail to several of the other admins, it appears there is literally noone allowing new accounts these days.
I'm aware that the rule about posting for alts has been dropped, however it means that any new players coming in (however humerous that sounds, there is a push in valinor to bring in new players) are unable to create accounts here. Also existing players who may wish to seperate their chars are unable to post.
Any chance of either you authorising the accounts, or approaching some new trusted person create those accounts.

I do not know a tremendous amount about your relationship with Daywalker, but I assumed that you must have had some reason for creating a hitherto almost unheard of precedent into order to target one typist whose actions were nothing out of ordinary in terms of post-nuke petulant rage. Although I liked him personally, I am of course aware that Daywalker had some issues. Spreading the code, however inconsequential a gesture nowadays, is also an action to be rightfully condemned. However, I am equally concerned by seemingly arbitrary punishments. You would not be the first moderator here to have started to make it up as you went along.
I can say that you're wrong and that if I got messages like the ones I got reporting about the situation here about anyone else I would have done about the same, but there is no way to prove it (and I might not be right).
However, I don't know why you would say I don't like Daywalker; one of the last things I did to interact with him was helping him get into FRA and PKing with him pretty extensively against the herks. However, I cannot tolerate the many... many... rules he broke immediately before and after his ban, and he's demonstrated that he is actively seeking to harm the community by any continued presence here. I needed leverage to keep him from coming back, and I used what was available to me. Read that however you like.

Historically speaking, hard bans have generally been lifted whenever the holder of the 'Power of Law' office has changed. New administrations would begin with a clean slate, so to speak. Given that the MUD's stagnation extends to the staff as well as the players, I'm not sure we'll see a change of hands any time soon. I would like for you to come back though, Winnetou, as I have already said. However, I think your claim that Karos was the alt of a power is as nonsensical now as it was then. The guy was a newbie.

BTW, I do think there can be improvements made. Such as introducing a kind of 'judiciary' mud branch, if we want to talk about fair bans. Simple principles such as letting both sides present their issues are important; it's not really fair to ban someone without first hearing them out.
I still stand by my words that the first time we were nuked (me and my bro) we never did anything wrong. We were nuked for 'mp' because they thought Light and Netwarrior are one person, which was obviously... well. Stupid. Later on we found out (were told) that the char we killed was the alt of a certain Power. Might be rumours, but I stand by my words - we were innocent. So there truly can be stuff that can be improved. Now, my bro isn't the best diplomat, and I don't agree with his approach, particularly because I was the same not long ago. But we are humans, we make terrible mistakes, and we... occasionally learn.
For eg., I still plead the Powers to let me play (tnx to everyone who supports me, if there are such pplz). I just want to get back in touch with some of the peeps. It's been over an year, and it was my first hardban. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying I agree with the reasons you were nuked. I just want to be clear about that. Your giving away your copy of the code now is just another sign of what kind of security risk you would have been had your ainu application been accepted.

Daywalker, if players were getting nuked for overpowered combos, how is it that Rhakyrh managed to stick around as long as he did? Or did you forget that his overuse of stamp, lunge, thrust, etc in one combat round to nearly instant-kill maxed players only resulted in stamp being nerfed?

So why don't you get me nuked? I don't really care about you, but to explain to others: there are ways that you can boost your tactics pretty high (as you have seen from other logs), and if you have a lot of tactics, and the target has no blocking (very important), you can easily do way over 57 hp (which could be the dlsg-->bleeding hp) with two headbutts. And as for the initial damage, poison works wonders (once again as you have seen from earlier logs), and with a poisoned TD you can do well over 100hp on the backstab (as you have felt, DW).
If you're not able to defend yourself, or not able to grab the same boosters to kill me, please don't complain about bug abuse. Why is it that when someone is better at something than you, he is cheating? You really would do good in taking a course in humility.
Anyhow - You're the one who's nuked, not me. I am sure if you had been less of an ass and cheater, you could've figured out all my wonderful insta-kill cheats that I am using.
