Ah. Sorry guys, I think I wasn't completely clear. I didn't mean that T2T has passed its due date. T2T is to me more of an experience than a game. But... for me, with where I am in life and all, T2T has passed its due date.
However, I don't think anyone can contest that the activiy is lower now than ten years ago. And, at least for me, T2T thrives when there is activity.
But yeah, I still have good moments here. They are just fewer than before. Mostly depending on my activity, but also a lot because I miss guys that aren't around anymore. Like that noob Woric. Hard to find a bigger loser, but the guy had heart at least.

the 'action' now is a bunch of dorks fighting in a predetermined place and hoping that they have acquired the most healing/boosters. there is nothing unexpected, except maybe that some fag alt nobody has heard of is camod and waiting for his bro to tell him stab. there's too much eq/rooms for way too few players. the whole fun of the oldies days was that not everybody had uber eq and 14 flasks. you played without that stuff. it was about style, timing, luck. now it is about weapons stats, robotic golding aliases, tick timers, and rimjobs.

I would like a hug from Holt, too. Also, I agree with him. Although I do not agree with the PvP flag, and various other changes, I still find the MUD to be quite good fun. Why only the other day I found a quest I'd never done before. I didn't manage to finish it, but still.
It sucks to hear so much talk of those days before battlepoints and back when t2t was in it's prime because unfortunately I probably wasn't even old enough to know about the game. Despite the fact that the player base has gone down a lot and that the game is not what it use to be I don't think that it has yet passed it's due date. Maybe it's just a lost hope but I think that there is yet to be a few more good times and a few more exciting moments in the game before it comes to an end.

As for them being the 'good' old days; like I said, I believe it has a lot to do with that I remember the good things and forget the bad things. Doing that is mostly a good thing, I think. I don't often really do the same mistakes, even if I forget my mistakes.
However, I definitely think some days will be better than others. After a certain date, milk gets old and does no longer taste as well nor nutrition you as well. For me, T2T has definitely passed its due date. I still enjoy T2T to some extent, but the days on T2T will never be as good as during my teenage years here.
Norin, nothing wrong with enjoying your job. If you don't like your job, you've chosen the wrong career. Perhaps you shouldn't have gone into the rimjob business after all?

You may be right, Alkath. RoI never intended to start a war with the evil guilds, but we had a policy of retaliation against Mordor kills which Gothwin refused to accept. It was SoU (along with Udungul and CoU) who escalated a series of skirmishes into a full blown war. Following the conclusion of the war in RoI's favour, Otoron extracted a series of humiliating treaties from SoU regarding what was and wasn't done in Mordor.
I would also give credit to Grimscar for his role in emboldening the moral guilds. Especially because he took on DH (which RoI would never have done for obvious reasons). I recall that you and I gangbanged Demandred on our then Glorglas characters - an action which would have been unthinkable a few years before. I don't really know if they were the good old days. I don't think things ever really get much better or worse; just different.
I know, from personal experience, that alkath likes to do the sucking. 82 gold per pop. 95 if you want him to swalllow.

And Etrius, I think that when Rimsilval was transformed into RoI and they, as a moral guild (even if we had our fights and arguments at times), it was what changed the other moral guilds too. At least in Valacirca, we stopped letting that bullshit rule of old times (based on the fact that guilds like SoU, Durms, CoU etc had better players) matter.
As for Cruice, about your point #5. Before battlepoints, things were a bit different. I sometimes wish you active pkers nowadays would have experienced those days. There was way more character separation and guild RP in those days. I respected a guild like SoU, and they respected a guild like VC. We had treaties and we fought, honorably. Would that have taken place in Tolkien's world? I don't know. I'm no Tolkien-geek so I don't know exactly how that would have worked. But I know that I enjoyed it. We had RP battles in Loth or at Balforth. At times people accidently (or intentionally) died, and there was at times drama about it, or at times we were entirelly cool. I remember people like Deimos that I'd in a heartbeat reimburse if I accidentally killed him. At times, something unforgiveable would happen, and a war would start. Normally, I found those solely funny (even though I definitely died more than I killed in the first few wars I was in), but at times they were ugly with guys like Paegon (?) dying like 30 times.
I dunno why I chose to write that long rant. It was nothing against you personally Cruice, nor anyone else. I guess what you said just reminded me of the pre-battlepoint PvP days. They were a lot of fun, and people normally showed a bit more honor and respect (although I probably only remember the good things, and have forgotten the bad things) in PvP.
Anyhow. Maybe someone will wipe a tear from their face reading my rant, remembering the good old days. Or maybe someone will sit and think 'what a fag' when reading it. All I know, is that Kharaan commenting makes me :') Oh, and I also know that Norin is into having his penis sucked by dudes.

RoI and GV both became moral guilds from 'impartial' ones at roughly the same time, and both vigorously shook up the status quo in the same manner. Both of us refused to recognise the 'Mordor is Mordor' rule, and both of us refused to reconcile ourselves to all the foibles of previous moral guilds. We did something which had never been done before, and it was a lot of fun. I don't know what you're saying, because we agree.

I don't think there is one, per se, but what some people occasionally taken umbrage with has been the perceived hypocrisy of some evil guilds. Guilds which turned a blind eye to certain individuals killing in Mordor, but gleefully gangbanged Dwain time and time again in the name of roleplay.
What irked me personally was that some evil players attempted to perpetuate the idea that 'Mordor is Mordor', which was essentially a geekier version of 'what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.' Although far more deserving of contempt were the spineless moral guilds who actually went along with that absurd premise.
Some people kill in Mordor solely for the enjoyment of pk, and some guilds have a standard that their members should actively attempt to drive invaders from Mordor.
I've never understood why there has to be a line in the sand between the two.

I've never understood why some players, and certain evil guilds, spend so much time loftily insisting that they're 'defending' Mordor under some thin pretext of roleplay. As far as I'm concerned, 'I kill people in Mordor just because they're in Mordor and I won't have to pay fines' is a perfectly acceptable reason for doing so. I would wager that Elmandil falls into that category.
