I guess it depends on the type of war you're in Korzan, but from my perspective, War is about both getting kills and effectively draining gold from your enemies.

Talan, in a war, making money etc isn't the idea. The idea is to get kills. :)

And, I didn't get reported for either one.

Uhh, trempk, ever think that maybe the fact that you can be found at 'durmanhoth' might make it kind of hard to stay secretive for long? When you know you'll be found out in a short matter of time, what the hell is the point of playing the secret assassin for the 1 week before everyone would find out anyway?

But the thieves are better at keeping secretive, so it makes sense.

I don't worry about money when I kill, when I kill money isn't an option. Its a thrill to kill someone. Having their corpse at your feet, what could be better?

Yeah, it kind of sucks that while the thieves guild has nice 'locations' to be found in by sheriffs, that do not say the name of their guild, the Durmanhoth and maybe the Mirdain do not, while both are in theory are equally secretive, but are obviously in reality not.

Another unrelated topic...killing someone with 8 men is horribly unproductive, looking at it from a logical point of view.

If each attacker pays 3k in fines for attempt, and 7 attack, and then a murder for...5k...you got a total of 26k for one kill. Thats 13k reimbursements. Most deaths on maxed people only cost 15k. So you end up spending 26k to do 2k of damage, and those are conservative numbers. It could be much worse if the average attempt fine was 3.5k or 4...

Klouse, I agree with you that it shouldn't be that way. You should all petition to have that change, but there's other ways of not being found in your guild, such as idling someplace else.

In RL there are rules that govern warfare and if those rules are violated, well you pay for committing them. They are called warcrimes, perhaps you have hear of the Nuremburg trials? Right now Milosevic is on trial for the crimes he ordered his soldiers or just allowed to to be done by those under his command.

Although this isn't RL, perhaps there should be rules to govern our wars, perhaps we should all pay heed to Korzan's rants about how anything goes...*shrugs it off because in the end, it doesn't really matter*

ARE no rules in war, Klouse...The rules of grammar follow you everywhere, even to the log page.

Vallejo you are right, we are suppose to be secritive...but if that is the case give me ONE sheriff who has enough location that cannot find Klouse is the halls, is states: Klouse is in the armoury of the Durmanhoth or somebullshit. If that was the case then where is the secrecy? Also when a guild declares war on you...you going to back down? Hell no, Rimsilval declared war, we now have a treaty with them. Nothing has happend with them since, also VC decided to join in the war with them. When they decide to surrender to our expectations...then they will be left alone also, but until then they will be slaughtered by every means we have. OOC - When the terrorist attacked the United States, we were then at war. We didn't want to be at war, but Bush said we will handle the people we are at war with by ANY MEANS, ANY RESOURSES we have. When you are at war there are no rules. If you don't want things to happen to you or not ready for the things that can happen to you then you don't go to war...that is simple cut and dry. In layman terms...THERE IS NO RULES IN WAR!

The policy of avoiding war has been tried repeatedly and has failed every time. We did not declare war against the Rimsilval, the BkD, the Beornings, or the Valacirca. If it were a perfect world, uniques wouldnt be traced back to guilds, there would be no spies, and nobody would seek revenge against their killers when they died.:) But it isn't like that and secrecy will be difficult to establish or maintain under that circumstance.

You callin me a wrench or a power saw or somethin? :p

Yeah, but when people attack us, we gotta kill them. We are too powerful to just be tools and people don't go for that 'its a contract, nothing personal thing to much'. They go, hey fuck you, you killed me. I'm gonna kill you a million times and put 50k on your head. Or somethin like that.

I don't mind being grumpy right now. But the whole saying, 'This is war!' shit is fucking played out, get a new argument for the love of pussy. At anyrate, read your theme Manni, you guys are supposed to be SECRET.

Totally off par with that is posting logs, though I don't mind seeing them up. When I was a durm a while back you'd get bitched at for telling someone if someone else was a member, you wouldn't mouth publicly, you were quiet about everything. Now all you guys do is mouth and it gets old to see, it really does.

'Last Alliance. The Durmanhoth was forced to maintain an even greater veil of secrecy and awaited their powerful return. Then one day Mutalator came to the land with a thirst for blood and led these

men back to their former glory. Once again, the Durmanhoth became secret tools in the wars of Arda!'

This is some of your theme statement, you guys aren't supposed to fight wars, your TOOLS! in every sense of the word.

Nobody called it an assassination, Mimak. I don't recall a time we have ever tried to pass off a 7 man gangbang as an assassination. The objective of a war is to defeat your enemy and inflict as many casualties as possible. We corpsed both of these guys to work towards that objective. It's as simple as that. War does not bring out the skill of assassins, that is not its purpose.

UNIF needs to get a tutor in the field of counting for some people. Kriss was busy in the last round...And there are 6 hits aside from mine. You can also clearly count 7 people standing in the room, aside from myself.
