Not sure if this can even be called attemp. but I was bored and hunting in dale when suddenly i was attacked.. I dont use zmud so sorry you dont see colors.


Note, I was just in Dale trying to make some hard earned gold and once I got to the signpost I was attacked, I was wielding a damn crappy axe. You damn assassin and warrior.

wide.  They are made of stone which has begun to crack in places, letting 
small blades of grass poke through. This place seems very old. The steps
end at a grassy terrace above and continue down to a stone bridge.
The sounds of battle are closer now.  The drums, certainly orc-
drums, vibrate the stone beneath your feet.  The terrace above
is shrouded in a reeking dark smoke.

high rock gates. The forest stretches out all around you, with its black
twisted trees and dark ominous shadows dancing around you. A large grey
rock sits off to the side of the terrace.

    You've come to the great gates of Thranduil's caves, its largest
entrance.  The gates stand on the side of a hill, inside which the caves
begin.  Here is where the most sorties of this battle have been fought.
Many times have the orcs surged forth and assailed the gates, and many
times the elves have fought them back.  The black smoke hangs over the
battle-site, obscuring details, yet you can see the blood-soaked hill
amidst a sea of nameless corpses.

    Silently you creep through the battle unnoticed and knock on the huge
    gates.  A hollow, ominous thudding sound meets your every knock
                          BOOM....BOOM...BOOM.

    After a moment, a small sliding peep-slot opens and you feel you're
    being examined.

    Seconds later, the huge gate opens just enough for many rough hands
    to reach out and pull you inside!

    You are in a long twisting tunnel. The top of the tunnel is about four
or five feet above your head and you don't have to duck to move along.
The walls are smooth to the touch, and you can see small gems embedded 
throughout the tunnel. The owners of these tunnels are Elves, but you
could swear that this looks like the work of Dwarven miners. The tunnel
seems to have a gradual slope up as it travels deeper into the mountain.
    The only obvious exits are out and deeper.

    You are standing on a bridge which spans a dark and swift running
river. Across the bridge, you can see a steep slope covered with trees.
The ground on the eastern side of the river looks trampled, and
many trees have been marred by fire and blade.  Between the trees,
you can see fire and smoke and occasional dark forms moving.  You
can clearly hear drums and the sound of battle.  There are rough
stone stairs leading into the smoke, but you notice how inviting
the rest of Mirkwood has suddenly become.
